Number structure
Most numbers have four parts: the line prefix, the shape number, an optional suffix and the size after the hyphen. For example, GP5001-15 is a 90° i/a bend from the press V water line, diameter 15 mm.
Prefix: which line the fitting belongs to
| Start of the number | Line | Example |
|---|---|---|
| digits 5… / 4… | Copper solder EN 1254 | 5001-15 |
| GP | Gutpress Copper, V profile, water | GP5001-15 |
| GPG | Gutpress Copper, V profile, gas | GPG5001-15 |
| 6… | Gutpress Copper, M profile, water | group 6001 |
| 7… | Gutpress Copper, M profile, gas | group 7001 |
| 2… | Gutpress Carbon Steel, M profile | 2270-15 |
| 3… | INOX 304, Stainless Steel, press, M profile | 3270-15 |
| 12… | INOX 316L, Stainless Steel, press, M profile (numbers without a hyphen) | 120001515 |
| K | Imperial copper ANSI B16.22, K series | K5001-1/2 |
| G | Copper G-size for high pressures | G5001-22 |
| GPV, GP600 | Gutpress Ball Valves V and M | GPV60015PP |
Shape number
The last three digits of the group number indicate the shape and recur across lines. A 90° i/a bend is 5001 in solder, GP5001 in press V, 6001 in press M and G5001 in G-size.
| Number | Shape | Number | Shape |
|---|---|---|---|
| …001 | Bend 90° i/a | …130 | Tee |
| …002 | Bend 90° i/i | …270 | Coupling |
| …040 | Bend 45° i/a | …240 | Reducing coupling i/i |
| …041 | Bend 45° i/i | …243 | Fitting reducer i/a |
| …090 | Elbow 90° i/i | …301 | Cap end |
| …092 | Elbow 90° i/a | …085 / …086 | Crossover i/i / i/a |
In the solder and press V lines, a first digit of 4 instead of 5 usually indicates a threaded part, e.g. 4270 (fitting with female thread) alongside 5270 (coupling).
Letter suffixes
- R: reducing version, e.g. 6130R, reducing tee in the M profile.
- G: threaded version in the M profile and in steel, e.g. 6090G, 90° elbow with female thread.
- S: slip version, e.g. GP5270S, slip coupling.
Size after the hyphen
-15: one diameter, 15 mm.-28.12: several diameters separated by a dot, e.g. reducing coupling 28 × 12 mm.-15.1/2: diameter and thread in inches, e.g. union 4331-15.1/2 is 15 mm × 1/2″.
Exception: in the press M lines (water and gas), the article numbers in the catalogue tables are long numeric codes, e.g. 682001212. On the group pages they appear in the tables together with the size, e.g. in group 6001.
Ordering by number
Enter the article numbers in the enquiry form or build a list in the product finder: open a line, e.g. press V, choose group GP5001 and add the diameters you need.
